Position
panel to wall brackets #101C or #201C at levels indicated on
elevation drawing, centered at panel location per floor plans and
mark holes. Brackets must be even in height with other brackets.
See a typical elevation drawing. NOTE: A bracket with a “C”
suffix is a continuous bracket, 1/2” shorter than the panel
height.
-
Position
pilaster to wall brackets #101C at height indicated on elevation
drawing, centered at pilaster location per floor plans and mark
holes.
-
Drill
wall using 5/16” masonry bit (masonry wall only). Insert plastic
anchors and fasten bracket with 1-3/4” screws. For drywall
construction, sufficient blocking must have already been set in
the wall. Drill wall with a 1/8” high-speed drill bit and fasten
bracket with 1-3/4” screws.
-
Attach
3/8" x 6"
threaded rod to building structural support member in ceiling.
See bolt hole layout plan for location. NOTE: These holes are
normally located and drilled by the structural iron supplier or
contractor.
-
Place
3/8" nut and lock washers and flat washer on all exposed ceiling
bolts at uniform distance below ceiling plane. Temporarily
tape washers in place to prevent from falling. Assure that nut is
high enough so shoe will cover all mounting hardware.
-
Locate
appropriate size pilaster as shown on the shop drawings. Place a
#101C or #201C bracket at the proper height from the bottom of
pilaster (see elevation drawing) and mark holes, using the bracket
as a template. Drill the back of the pilaster (1) if 3/4” Torx
screws are provided, use 1/8” high-speed drill bit and drill
hole 3/4” deep or (2) if thru bolts are provided use 1/4”
high-speed drill.
-
Fasten
the #101C or #201C bracket to back of pilaster up to 55" from
the bottom of the pilaster using fasteners supplied. NOTE: DO NOT
over torque screws and strip out material.
-
Slide
floor shoe down from the top of pilaster, between top of pilaster
and bracket, hemmed side down and to the front.
-
Fasten
½” aluminum hanger bar to top of pilaster with 3/8” cap screw
threaded into cross dowel.
-
Locate
the appropriate size panel and place it in the #101C or #201C wall
bracket, maintaining the proper panel height off the floor by
supporting it with scissor jacks or blocks.
-
Raise
pilaster into place engaging panel into #101C or #201 bracket and hanger
bar on ceiling bolts. Fasten pilaster to ceiling bolts with a
flat washer, lock washer and a 3/8" nut.
-
Assuring
pilaster is plumb and aligned with other pilasters and door
openings are maintained, tighten ceiling nuts at hanger bar.
-
Assure
panel is plumb, level and even in height with other panels.
Position the panel into the wall and pilaster brackets, leaving
approximately ¼” space between pilaster and panel and ½”
space between panel and wall bracket. Using the holes in the
brackets as templates, mark and drill panel as before and fasten
panel to brackets using screws or thru bolts as supplied. NOTE: DO
NOT over torque screws and strip out material.
-
Repeat
previous steps for all panels and pilasters.
-
The
pilasters at the wall must be fastened last as these provide
additional side- to- side adjustment if required. Using the holes
in the wall brackets as templates, mark and drill panel as before
and fasten panel to brackets using screws or thru bolts as
supplied. NOTE: DO NOT over torque screws and strip out material.
-
See
hinge hardware drawing for assembly instructions.
-
Hang
doors with proper hardware including hinge, slide latch,
latch-keeper, foam tape stop cushion and coat hook. Coat
hook/bumper should be located so door does not strike partition
mounted accessory items. For out-swing doors, wall bumper and
handle are supplied. Locate wall bumper so handle does not strike
wall and fasten bumper to wall with appropriate fasteners.
Emergency access is provided as a slot in the door, allowing a pen
or pencil, pocketknife or screwdriver to be inserted to slide the
latch open from the back of the latch.
-
If
the door gaps are inconsistent or the doors do not operate
properly, adjust the pilaster hanger bolts as required.
-
Slide
ceiling shoe to cover angle. Drill through shoe from the inside of
the stall using a 1/8” high-speed drill bit and fasten with #14
x 5/8” Torx screw.
-
Complete
fastening #101C or #201C brackets on the backs of pilasters up
towards ceiling plane.
-
Find
bracket filler for above pilaster and fasten in place. NOTE: These
fillers are cut to size but may need to be trimmed. Check all
fillers before cutting any.
-
Install
1" thick x 5" wide solid polymer resin stabilizer to the
backs of all front pilasters, parallel with the ceiling plane and
1" above the top of the brackets on the backs of the
pilasters using #14 x 1-3/4” Torx screws or thru bolts as
supplied. Drill for the appropriate fastener as before.
-
Lubricate
hinges with silicone spray or white grease.
-
Remove
all production stickers.
-
Clean
partitions with solution of warm water and non-abrasive ammoniated
cleaner such as Ajax liquid or mild solvent for more persistent
stains and adhesive residue.
